Tips, How-to's and other information for users of the site MP3 Uploads Our site allows mp3 uploads for artists to share their music. For best results encode the mp3 at 128kbps, 44.1khz. If you sell your music commercially you may or may not wish to offer the files. If the music has explicit lyrics, PLEASE mark the checkbox. We don't censor music, it just notes it on the listings. Some artists may only wish to offer a short clip, or a file with downgraded quality. The system can handle MP3 files of lower quality. The site will allow uploads of non-mp3 files, but they will not play back properly. Please stick with mp3s. In the future we will most likely run a constant stream of local music from the collection of music on the site. The "clean" flag We have designed HRConnect.com to help promote the artists. We are working on some really neat things that should help our users gain exposure. With this comes the risk that someone might key in a band name or other piece of vital information with profanity or otherwise unwanted contents. Whenever a band profile is created, or modified, the system marks the profile as "unclean." Unclean data will show up in the site listings, but it will not be exported out to various public displays (the LED signs we are putting up, for instance). So if you just created a profile and it isn't showing up somewhere in public, this is why. The profiles are reviewed before they show up outside of our web site. The schedule GIF Because maintaining show information can be a hassle, we had a neat idea. Our system will generatea GIF image that you can link into your bands web page. This image will show the current upcoming show information from our system. This will allow you to have the ability to only have to update your show information in one place. The only real limitation is the fact we only maintain venues in Southeastern Virginia, Northeastern North Carolina and Richmond. We may look to add on to this in the future. Email us your thoughts.
