November 12th, 2005 Some cosmetic changes have been made to the site. More to come. Thanks to everyone for adding your projects! If possible please keep the show schedules up to date. I am investigating adding a few new features. 1st is streaming video of music videos. 2nd is implementing a system for local school bands to post archived audio and video.

October 4th, 2005 Wow! It's almost been a year since I started doing news. Sorry for the slow updates friends. Some new things are DEFINITLY underway! First and foremost, the new flyer system is nearly complete. Soon anyone can email in flyers to an email address and they will be made availible on the home page (after validation). This should help in marketing events. Second off, the HRConnect promotion vehicle is on the road. You can catch a picture of the truck HERE. It's not quite finished yet, but close. In the photo it can be seen playing the "Crystal Method - Coming Back Again" video. She features a 72" video display, and 5 on board computers. Throw an email to webmaster@hrconnect.com if you have more interest in it. I did the entire install myself. Lastly, I'd like to thank those that have signed up on the site! We are running Google adwords, and doing limited promotion. Hopefully word will spread about the site, and things will grow a bit quicker as 2006 approaches. I have some crazy ideas, but implemeting them is hard as I contract during the day, work on 757tech.com stuff in the evening, on top of the HRConnect stuff. Rich Meserve has joined in helping with HRConnect.com development. He's got skills, so he will definitly aid in some of the new things. Thanks to Patrick and Ken who helped in the past. What other bits can I say... going to look at finally getting the LED signs posted out and around. We've had the technology, just need to deploy. Also I'm looking to give away free photo galleries for every artist profile. Oh yes, and a bunch of really crazy bleeding edge never been done before things. Crazier than the truck, almost. So keep your eyes on the site for changes and upgrades, and your eyes on the road. -- Ethan

January 19th, 2004 The holidays are over, and now it's time to get back to work! Several rock bands have contacted us regarding the compilation CD! RSS feeds are in testing, and seem to be working. Implementing profanity traps for public displays. Still waiting on places to deploy signs, RT will be the first it seems. Working on other currently unmentionable things that should proove a great benefit for the local artists! We recently took out paid adveritsing in the Richmond Music Journal We recently took out paid advertising via google adwords. Still checking into economical outlets for advertising in HR, none to be found so far Thanks to Chris and his friends for handing out flyers @ the Norva and Michael Bobs!

November 30th, 2004 Patrick fixed the error upon new registration, and forgot password function LED signs are ready for deployment Still working on teaming up with a store to deploy them? (I've emailed Alpha, AL&M and Guitar Center). Should have upcoming shows link ready soon Next big fix is the profile editing for artists, it's cumbersome to use. Free classifieds for HRConnect.com are on their way. MUCH MORE TO COME! November 11th, 2004 MUCH THANKS to all that have emailed with problems! Fixed event default year (now defaults to 2004). New venue added. I've been playing with RSS feeds, new Artists are listed on www.HRConnect.com main page. I will be adding a links page, with links to local recording studios, publications, and related sites. Most of my time the past two days after my day job has been spent getting the foundation for LED sign broadcasting done. It's coming along... err should I say almost done: Currently it displays the 10 newests artists + genres, followed by all upcoming shows for the next week. We still have to throw together some software to run on old computers that allow the signs to be updated by both existing internet connections and telephone lines. Also, all content has to be approved (to prevent foul language from making it from bogus new artist submissions onto public displays). I expect to have the phone line stuff done tommorow night. Exciting things! Thanks everyone for participating! November 2nd, 2004 I've started to spread the word, and posted messages around on some public forums. FM99 may link to us from their homepage! Emailed NSU's station, ODU's paper, posted on many message boards. Fixed band profile page error, it said "Artist" instead of "Venues" on upcoming events.. Fixed band picture routine so there is a "No photo" image when no image exists. Default date for events still starts at 2003 (Needs fixing). New users are greeted with a SQL error, addition works fine (Needs fixing). Need to re-implement front page "new artists" list. October 21st, 2004 Things are coming together and the site should be public soon! Working on some very innovative ways to advertise the information that we collect on this site!
